The arrest of Allu Arjun in connection with the tragic stampede during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4 has sparked a wide range of reactions from fellow celebrities. The incident, which tragically resulted in the death of a woman and left her son critically injured, has ignited intense media coverage. Many prominent figures from the film industry across different languages have voiced their opinions, ranging from support to criticism of how the case has been handled.

Rashmika Mandanna supports Allu Arjun

Allu Arjun’s co-star in Pushpa 2, Rashmika Mandanna, expressed her shock and sadness over the incident. “I can’t believe what I am seeing right now… It is heartbreaking to see everything being blamed on a single individual,” she said. Rashmika stressed that the blame should not fall solely on Allu Arjun, highlighting the unjust focus on him in the aftermath.

Hi Papa actor Nani also supports Pushpa 2

Nani, a leading actor in Telugu cinema, also shared his disappointment with the disproportionate attention given to celebrities in such situations. He pointed out the stark contrast between the way media and authorities approach incidents involving film personalities and ordinary citizens. “I wish the kind of enthusiasm government authorities and media show in anything related to people from cinema was also there for the regular citizens. We would have lived in a better society,” Nani remarked. He also acknowledged the tragedy, suggesting that responsibility for the incident lies with not only the actor but also the theatre management and authorities. “We should all learn from the disaster and be a lot more careful hereafter,” he added.

Raza Murad and Baby John actor Varun Dhawan also sings

Veteran actor Raza Murad strongly defended Allu Arjun, criticising the arrest as “beyond understanding.” Murad pointed out that actors cannot be held responsible for crowd control, which is the theatre’s responsibility. “It is not a crime to be popular or to work in hit films,” he stated, adding that the crowd’s presence was due to the actor’s popularity, not his direct actions.

While promoting his upcoming film Baby John, actor Varun Dhawan also weighed in, stating, “The actor cannot take the sole responsibility of the safety protocols. You can only tell the people around you… The incident was tragic. I express my condolences but at the same time, you cannot blame only one person for this.”
